Nouns Sponsors Sunny Pires on an Adventure to Nicaragua
Nouns teams up with up-and-coming professional surfer Sunny Pires to create an inspiring and visually stunning surf documentary.
Details
Nouns funded Sunny Pires in march of 2024 to go on an adventure, and take Nouns along for the ride. This feel-good proposal documents Sunny’s journey along the coast of Nicaragua, combining breathtaking surfing, beach clean-ups, and connecting with the local community. It wasnt just about the waves—it’s about community, adventure, and showing how Nouns can empower individuals in every corner of the world and across sub-cultures.
The documentary introduces Sunny Pires, a talented surfer named after a legendary wave rider, who at just 18 years old is making his mark on the global surf scene. Coached by his father and mentor, Charles Pires, Sunny has already achieved multiple championship titles.
With the help of Nouns, Sunny embarked on an adventure, bringing the Nounish ethos to life as he travels the world honing his craft.
In this film, Sunny travels Nicaragua’s stunning coastline, surfs at pristine beaches, and trains under his father’s guidance.
Along the way, the team also gives back—organizing beach cleanups, engaging with local communities, and spreading the Nouns ethos. Even bringing Precious Plastics along for the ride as they helped educate the community on the importance of recycled and sustainable materials.
The Volcano
The journey finishes with an expedition to one of Nicaragua’s iconic volcanoes. Sunny and his team hike to the summit, symbolically “conquering” it for Nouns.
After reaching the top and planting the Nouns flag in the dirt, Sunny gears up and prepares to ride down the Volcano, in an epic finish. Then, Sunny sleds down the volcano’s sandy slope on a board, capturing the fun-loving spirit of both surfing and Nouns.
This documentary goes beyond showcasing surfing skills—it’s about spreading positivity, connecting with people, public good, and highlighting how Nouns can empower everyone.
Continuing the Journey
After wrapping up this inspiring documentary, Sunny and his team proposed another exciting idea to Nouns. This time, Sunny would travel to California to continue spreading the Nounish spirit while surfing. In October 2024, he landed in Nouns Town, creating even more incredible content and connecting with the community along the way.
Sunny and the team have also teamed up with Brazil’s Woohoo channel, a leading action sports network, which will premier the documentary on select television channels across Brazil, and features content from Sunny on their YouTube.
